To provide you with a high level of security, Alamance Regional recommends that you
use one of the newer browsers, such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.1 or
Mozilla® FireFox. These browsers support the latest encryption technology,
javascript and cookies.
Even if you already have a fairly new browser version, it's always a
good idea to upgrade your browser with the latest updates. Newer
browsers support 128-bit encryption. Furthermore, updates protect
your computer from security vulnerabilities which may exist on your
computer.

Security Standards
At Alamance Regional, we understand that security is very important to our applicants.
Although we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of data transmitted
over the public Internet, we encrypt all data transmissions between your
computer and our website by using the strongest-available, industry-standard
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols. Your messages to us are not decrypted
until they are inside our firewall. There, they are subject to additional
security procedures.
Encryption
The encryption process scrambles your data into a form that only your
browser and the Alamance Regional website can understand. This is an effective way to
achieve data security. Encryption significantly reduces the possibility of
unauthorized users intercepting and reading your account or transaction information.
To access Alamance Regional, you must use a browser that supports 128-bit security. To be sure
that your browser supports the latest encryption technology, update your browser.

Login IDs and Passwords
Login IDs are used by Alamance Regional as a means of identifying users. Passwords are
encrypted and are known only to the user. No one at Alamance Regional will ever need to
know your Password, and you should never furnish it to anyone who claims to
represent Alamance Regional. Together, your Login ID and Password add to the security of
the Alamance Regional website.
Password Security
If you forget your Login ID, please contact Alamance Regional. If you forget your Password,
please use the "Forgot Password" button on the Alamance Regional Careers page. It is a good
additional security measure to change your Password frequently. Simply login, go
to "Account Information," enter your new password twice and then click the "Continue"
button.

Session Time-out
In order to provide all users with the best, most secure experience, inactive
sessions will time-out after a period of 20 minutes. If your session is
terminated before you have completed your application, simply restart your browser
and log back in to the Careers page. You will be able to resume the application process.
When you have finished your session, be sure to log out by clicking on the
"Log Out" button or by closing your browser. It is also a good idea to
clear your browser history occasionally, in order to ensure that personal
information is cleared from the browser's memory.
Browser Navigation
As an additional security measure, we prevent pages containing your private
information from being saved on your computer's hard drive. You may receive
error messages from your browser requiring you to click "reload" or "refresh"
to go back or forward in your sessions, when you use your browser's back or
forward navigation buttons. It is best to only use the navigation tools
built into the Alamance Regional web pages.

Personal Security Practices
You play an important role in protecting your security. Above all, maintain
the secrecy of your Password. Never tell anyone your Password or write it down
in any place where it could be associated with your Login ID.
If you think that someone else may have access to your Password, please
change your it immediately. It's a good idea to change your Password
frequently, and if possible, your password should include numbers as well as letters.
